v0.1.5 Early Build DevLog

Hello all! It's been a while since we've uploaded a version publicly to itch.io! Sorry to keep you waiting, we've been working really hard to get the annoying stuff out of our way (which included a ton of UI stuff). The game may very well look more like an actual game now and not just a quick project (we hope so at least).  For now, we only have an update for the Windows build, we're still trying to work out some issues with the android build. Hopefully that will come later in the week for you all!

Before I get into all the changes we've made and all the stuff we've added I'd like to update you on a few things! 

1. We're implementing a patch system! From now on, we'll be uploading a "free version" which is the public version on itch.io. Supporters gain access to the patch required to unlock exclusive content (it's basically the same idea as supporters getting early access to the builds). So, if you're a supporter be sure to go to patreon/discord and download the patch before you play! (There's a 'read me' to help you out if you have trouble).  Currently there's a promotion for 20% off on select tiers until 24.03.2025! The supporter build for this update includes an extra scene and story progression!

2. We're now working on the early version of the guidebook! Higher tier patrons and backers have access to this now and it's available in the discord server!

4. We have a feedback survey to keep player feedback a bit more organized now! Your feedback is invaluable to us, so if you've got the time fill it out!

Below is a list of changes, additions, and removals we've made since the last public build(v1.4.3):

Engine & Technical Updates

  • Migrated to Unity 6 and a new visual novel engine version:
    • Improved data retention across updates.
    • Enhanced bug resistance and clearer implementation.
    • Upgraded development tools for smoother workflow.
    • Ensured save file compatibility between game versions.
    • Improved camera control for better scene framing.

New Features & Mini-Games

  • Added KumaRoll:
    • New dice-based mini-game playable against Nono or solo versus the computer.
    • Integrated into the PC interface as "Kuma Roll Mini Game."
  • Added Cooking Mini-Game:
    • Introduced a new cooking mini-game with 9 unique dishes to prepare for Nono.
    • Integrated cooking game into existing story content.
    • Added Nono’s reactions and opinions to each dish.
  • Added New PC Interface:
    • Implemented a browser and email system, including the first email.
    • Accessible via the updated PC UI.
    • Implemented email alert system to on-screen UI.

Story & Scene Content

  • New Story Content:
    • Extended dialogue during clothes shopping.
    • Added "Nono Needs Privacy” (3 parts) scenes.
    • Added "Enter Alura" event introducing Alura as a side character.
    • Added "Nono’s First Job" scene with accompanying story continuation.
    • Added "Self Love" first and repeating scene in Nono’s room.
    • Introduced multiple bad ending dialogues and stats/job warning dialogues.
    • Added 9 small events for eating each unique dish for the first time.
    • Included repeat food dialogues with unique "Sauce" variants.
    • Added hamper dialogues in the bathroom and new dialogue for attempting to enter when Nono is present.
    • Added Nono’s reactions to the player leaving for work.
  • Alternate Paths & Dialogue:
    • Implemented alternate paths for pre-existing scenes.
    • Added alternative scene dialogue box and confirmation popup UI.
    • Overhauled character interactions with a new dialogue wheel UI.

Characters

  • Nono Updates:
    • Added a mood system influencing her behavior and interactions.
    • Replaced "Relationship Levels" with a more linear progression system.
    • Introduced Nono’s transformative schedule (6 possible schedules) adjusting to world events (e.g., increased "self love" as lust rises).
    • Added new sprites: Nono in the kitchen, bedroom, and sleeping, each with unique dialogues.
    • Included ~20 new expression components and 12 new body sprites for Nono.
    • Overhauled old dialogues with new expressions and replaced "Bright Flash" with an animated frame-by-frame pink smoke cloud effect.
    • Player can now find Nono’s panties in the laundry basket if present.
  • Alura Introduction:
    • Added 18 expression components and 2 poses for Alura.
    • Implemented Alura’s succubus smoke cloud effect.

Animations & Visuals

  • New Animations:
    • Added going-to-work and cooking animations.
    • Replaced the old cleaning animation with a new one tailored to the cooking event.
    • Added work options supporting 4 shift lengths.
  • Sprite & Pose Updates:
    • Added new sprite poses for Nono and Alura.
  • Audio:
    • Added music for new hentai scenes.
    • Added sound effects for cooking.
    • Added sound effects to play during work animation.
    • Added sound effects music and sound effects for “Kuma Roll” mini game.

User Interface (UI) Overhauls

  • General UI Updates:
    • Updated Shower UI with a "zoom" feature and dialogue insert capability.
    • Updated Wallet UI, Player/Nono Stats UI, and Pause Menu UI (Settings, Save/Load, Controls).
    • Improved Dialogue Box UI with embedded text icons and new buttons.
    • Added End of Day Report UI.
  • New UI Elements:
    • New PC UI, Food Menu UI, Cooking Game UI, and Popup Confirmation UI.
    • Overhauled character interaction with Dialogue Wheel UI.
  • Stat & Menu Enhancements:
    • Improved "Stats" UI and added a Credits Page.

Gameplay Mechanics

  • Work & Money:
    • Players can work 4 shift lengths, earning 15-60 units based on hours.
    • Added "Game Over" condition for missing more than 2 shifts per week.
  • Hygiene & Housekeeping:
    • Adjusted scoring for showering and cleaning.
    • Added Nono relationship/mood penalties for poor hygiene or housekeeping.
    • Introduced "Game Over" by Bad Hygiene or Bad Housekeeping.
    • Added "Game Over" by Nono’s Hunger.

Miscellaneous

  • Hundreds of small updates and bug fixes.
  • Pre-work completed for future content expansion.

Temporarily Removed:

  • Nono’s expressions for noticing MC in shower mini game.
  • Controller support.

Thank you all so much for your patience. We'll be rolling updates out more frequently in the future. The last few builds were supporter only, and we know it makes us look pretty inactive on itch.io. Hopefully this new patch system will help with that!

can you include an option to turn off bad ends?

there are bugs, in particular when skipping dialogues, or at the dialogue stage, the game simply freezes, or when the character appears, sometimes the bug appears when you need to watch masturbations in the Succubus's room

Yep! We've been fixing bugs all morning and are going to upload the new version very soon (within the hour) with a ton of fixes! Thank you for letting us know though, we're using a new version of the VN tool we're developing so this is like version 1 in a way

Really enjoyed this game in the past. I play it on Mac via whiskey, but this new update won't run. Any plans to fix this or release a mac version? love the game

I'm so sorry to hear :< We don't have any knowledge of whiskey but we can look into it soonish to see if we can figure something out. We aren't planning on a mac version - at least not one for early builds. We do hope we'll be able to release the final game on mac though (but we don't want to promise anything).

Phenomenal work here Ashy and company, can't wait to get back in game and see what you've got cooking here (both literally and figuratively I suppose, heh). Glad I kept following y'all, figured I might have to wait 'til release to buy this little gem, more than happy to have the opportunity to see just a bit more of the world you've created.
